Consultation Report on Proposed Regeneration Plans
Last year the friends of Montgomery Street Park decided to approach the community in order to get feedback on some of the suggested changes to the park. The Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust, who have experience doing similar consultations and have had previous involvement with the group, were employed to do the work and produce this report thanks to funding from the North Neighbourhood Partnership Community Grants Fund scheme.
The process of consultation not only provides valuable feedback but, crucially, stimulates a sense of community ownership of this park. It is to be hoped that the increased awareness as well as the focus this process has provided, will give impetus to the regeneration of Montgomery Street Park. Thanks to all those who facilitated the consultation and subsequent report especially to all to those from the community who have taken the time to express their opinions on the proposed plans and make known their hopes and aspirations for their local park.
